CMRC is an intensively collaborating research network based on laboratories at the Copenhagen Hospital Cooperation (Rigshospitalet and Bispebjerg Hospital) and at the Faculties of Health Sciences (the Panum Institute) and of Science (Institute of Exercise and Sport Sciences and the August Krogh Institute) at the University of Copenhagen.

The aim of the Centre is to expand the knowledge about the biology of muscle and its role for the rest of the body. The focus is on basal mechanisms, and studies are carried out on all experimental levels from subcellular structures to healthy or diseased human beings.
